If you identify "them" you can solve your own problem rather than wait for your carrier to not help. USPS Certified Mail may be a best option to enforce the "wrong number" claim. Debt collectors conducting sloppy skip traces are most often guilty of disbelieving a "not me" result. I'll link to further reading in case it relates.
I've been getting calls from this number for about a month. Usually they hung up. But the calls are now getting later at night. I don't get calls after 10:00 pm. Now they sit there for a while and ask for "Douglas". I tell them you have the wrong number. They say come on please get him. This is really important. Again I say wrong number and goodby. Now during day hangs up and @ night ask for Douglas. I don't pick up phone anymore. This is happening on my landline. It is getting a little scary, They wont take "wrong number" seriously. I'm going to call my carrier AT&T and see if they can help. This has been happening for a week now. Don't want to have to change my number.
