I sympathize with your dilemma. My wife and I have been getting the exact same calls that you are getting and we get them everyday and night 7 days a week. Usually the number is anonymous but recently I *69'd the call and got the # 662 016 3060 which apparently is not a valid number. Each time they call they NEVER get to the point of the call. It's so suspicious, it's truly scary. They claim to "know" that we have a certain computer and they always address me by my actual name. They say they are from "The Computer Center" but they never say the reason they are calling and they never give a company name. If I start asking too many questions they simply hang up on me. These calls seem to begin when I bought an HP laptop at the Best Buy store. That is the only way they could associate my name with a pc because I bought the PC computer for my wife and I have an Apple. I ask: Are u from HP? "NO" Are you from Best Buy "NO". Are you selling anti-virus protection? "NO". WHY ARE YOU CALLING??? HOW DID U GET THIS NUMBER?? "This is the Computer Center" and they just saying the same stupid things over and over without revealing the purpose of the call. We are on the "Don't call list" but that doesn't stop these calls. We've screamed into the phone "STOP CALLING THIS NUMBER" and yet the calls continue and continue. In my opinion, this has to be a scam phishing for passwords and other private ID details.I'm not implicating HP or Best Buy in this scam but it seems that
there must be a way that people can get a record of purchases from stores perhaps through hacking.
That is the only way my name would ever be connected to a pc, when I only deal with Apple for my own computer needs. I bought the pc as a gift for my wife which is why my name is on the receipt. When they call, they always use my name. THIS HAS TO STOP!!!
Just had this number call, the caller had a VERY strong Indian accent I could hardly understand, they claimed to be from a company that had received notifications from my computer that it contained virus's - and that I needed to be sitting at my computer so they could talk me through clearing the 'issue' I had.
I am on the do not call list and told them so, I also said I would file a complaint against them.
I've Googled the number but nothing is showing up with any details about who it is.
