Didn't answer this call. Voice mail mentions something about surgery that required the use of screens in the arteries. Told to press 8 to be taken off list or 3 to talk with someone who could assist me with a claim.
Honest telemarketers have stopped making calls if you are on the list.
Dis-honest telemarketers, i.e. crooks, are making these calls. Crooks are NOT going to abide by the Do Not Call list.
It is hard to catch crooks when they can spoof their Caller IDs.
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act should have included penalties for phone carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Joe-Blow's Telephone Company) who allow these operations.
Also, your "business friendly" political party is in no hurry to protect your interests as opposed to the profits of phone carriers and telemarketers.
What can you do?
1.) Buy a phone with lots of blocking ability;
2.) see what blocking ability your phone carrier has;
3.) get a phone carrier that offers "simultaneous ring" (for free) and sign up for "a certain call blocking service whose name this site deletes).
On a more personal note, if you have no idea what you are talking about ("...the Do Not Call List, but obviously that does nothing to block these calls") educate yourself before complaining.
