Agent Bob Jenkins about payday loan in Nov 2011. Capital Claims is the company. Called from 254-829-5632, gave me two numbers to call back since I told him he called me at work and I was unable to talk to him at that time..844-886-5598 and 678-245-4223. Scammer wanted to make settlement on $1500 or case would be forwarded to court.
Same here, just got off the phone with this Litigation Specialist Bob Jackson - Accountant Claims - Pending legal matter that i have to return the call by 3pm. He keeps calling so this time I answered. He said he has to make a business decision. I told him to email me all the documents he has. He says its on Check Fraud and will have to pursue the amount of $1,300.68 but can knock off $300 and I pay $1,052.75. He asked if I had anything to put towards it today to stop. I have never had any kind of overdraft check for one and two, this is from 2007?! So i told "Litigation Specialist Bob Jackson" to email me the information and that if he wants to pursue, he can, but that I work in collections as well and we have our own attorney and I will file this. He said he will email it to me. I have yet to receive anything. If this guy calls you ask him to send you documents. He sounds like a major scam artist. Be careful guys!!
A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]
Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/blog/debtcollection/
If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

678 647 6246 is a new number for this bunch.
They called today with threats of fraud for a loan I never had. The usual threats of jail ect.
I dealt with this years ago and knew the questions to ask.
She couldn't give me the name of the company. Just rattled off a list of payday loan places.
She only had the last 4 of my SSN. If it's real I learned before when reporting a similar situation, they will have the whole thing.
I start laughing and tell her to bring it on. She starts cussing, they gonna see my [***] in court! I hung up and reported the new number.
