Received several calls from 678-555-2323, caller ID "DIR ASST GA". Caller left no message. Since there is currently no 555 exchange in area code 678, this is clearly a spoofed number. The caller is pretending to be directory assistance, though only the number 555-1212 is used for this purpose.
i see no spam reports on this number, but it seems like i remember this is the number given in movies when they don't want to use a real one. anyway, left no message. the caller id said "DIR ASST GA". no clue about this.

This number calls my phone 2-3 times daily. They never leave a message. I live in Georgia in another area code and can't understand why a directory assistance would call my number. I get about 20 calls per day on my home phone when all my business and personal calls come in on my cell phone, and I am on the Do Not Call registry which may mean nothing to anyone any longer. Only occasionally is a call on my home phone legitimate but with the bundle with the Internet it pays to keep my home landline phone.
