Kat, It is a violation of your rights for them to refuse to send you something in writing via postal service. They refuse this so you won't get their address because they are illegal. In order for a payday loan to be legal, they must have a physical address and building. I have also been getting calls from Omega. They have stated that I owe money to a internet payday thing which as far as I know I paid off last Dec. I have spoken with a Ms. Williams, a couple of times. I asked her to send me a bill in writing via postal service and I would send her a money order if it showed that I indeed owed money....she refused and I have a witness that heard the entire conversation. They have called my work several times, they have called my friends or references that I put on the origional form. They even called my brothers work trying to find me. They have my address and my phone number and still they are calling my family "trying" to get a hold of me. I have spoken to an attorney who also told me that this may be a scam...they people buy like 10,000 names and do this to try to collect money from suckers. He told me to make it very clear that they will not get a dime out of me. Hey also told me to file complaints with the Attorny generals office and the federal trade commission.
I also received a call from SMG processing in Wright county...who claimed that they had legal papers to serve me but did not give me a number to call them back on....they just gave me the number to the firm.
Caller left a voice mail from "Omega Group" I did not talk to her. She claimed that she was the Chief Investigator in charge of Fraud. I owe an unlicensed Pay Day loan company. I want to pay the debt but the collectors refuse to accept anything but the entire balance owed. My state allows payment options. I offered to pay the $300 loan off in payments of $90 biweekly they refused. The pay day loan company was Manhattan Processing. They are very rude and unreasonable on the phone.They even hung up on me when I asked to have a physical address to mail my letter asking for verification of debt. I have been threatened with being taken to court "In the next few days" numerous times over the past few months. I would love to pay this off and stop the calls.

Hey, I had this same company call me the other day, Because I have experience I know that this is a Scam, They are able to gather information about a person who owes loans or payments to another company, they steal the information about people when you throw late payment mail away and so they are able to tell you exactly what you owe, what your addresss was or is currently and your phone number. They are able to identify you by your SSN# cause usually that's not on the bill. Trust me, I only caught on when I was told if I don't reach an agreement today, I would be have to go to court, but it is against the law for anyone to call you on your personal phone about this. They told me I owed $300, They said I was charged additonal $100 in fees, total $400, however they also sent me a statement that said I Owed $500 via Email, Something fishy, I asked for certified Mail saying what I owed, than they argued with me, but I got the upper hand, cause I told them what I knew, These crooks are very good at what they do, and I gurentee, they have gotten hundreds of people with this. I got taken years ago for over $1000 for a Sears account I thought was paid because this Company called me with a Settlement, but never sent me a receipt, never sent me any cerified mail, again I was only 18 years old, Man be careful.
