I got a call from the same number stating he Worked in a law office but never said which one. He said his name was daniel banks and left another number for me to call 844 209 9142
Called my cell phone and home phone. Left message saying I have court documents and if I call them back they will handle it before the documents are submitted. The man left his number to call 888-256-6741. I believe it to be a scam to get information.
My husband, in laws and I got a call from the same number. He said I was being charged (vague threating term), but could not say with what, and then said the information was in a sealed envelop that he could only open if I called him back and made a payment arrangement. When asked, well if its sealed, how do you know what is in it...no suitable answer for this. Claims to be some sort of attorney or instrument of the court, but is lying. I have had payday loans in the past and I think this is a scam that tries to scare you into thinking they are going to arrest you if you dont pay them. Caller's name is Evan Williams at 888-256-6474 x1012. They wanted my home and work address. If they actually worked for who they say they do, they would have that information and could come and get me anytime. SCAM...do not give them money. Calls come from Georgia number.
I just got the same call from Evan Williams at (678)-701-4482. He said I owed a company and they are getting ready to garnish my wages and I owed $900. I said "I'm not paying that" and what struck me as odd, is, immediately after I said that, Evan said "What will you pay". Ok, ghetto.
Anyways, after giving me a totally wrong company name and telling me (in the same threatening tone), "OKAY, how would I know that your email is blahblahblah, and where you work!!"
I told him off and then I called him back and he gave the phone to another guy who didn't introduce himself, but started his rant "hey you're the one who can't pay anything back" and then hangs up on me.
I contacted my local law enforcement and I left several messages for Evan.
THIS NUMBER IS A SCAM AND DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO. A
1. Ask for the company name and if you do not recognize it, Evan said "Well, its not under the name of whatever company you got it from"
2. Ask for the phone number.
