Got a call from this number said I had an old check that not cleared the bank, had intrest accumulated and they were going to garnish my wages. They didn't speak to me; gave info to my husband. The person who called didn't even know my name on my checks. If it was real they only would have given info to me. I don't have bounced checks!
This caller stated my husband had a check from 1998 that didn't clear the bank.. When I talked to the man, he talked so fast I couldn't understand what he was saying.. I told him to slow down and he disconnected.
They have called me non stop for almost 2 weeks. Finally got someone on the phone. Stated a bounced check from 2001.. Um.. no. Only time I have ever bounced a check it was taken care of. The moment you try telling them anything reasonable, they hang up. Finally blocked their phone number.
I have been receiving calls from this number every day for approximately a week. The recorded message says something about a check, but the person is talking so fast I am unable to understand. When I tried calling the number back, no answer. Obviously, some sort of scam.
The same as above. Started last month with New York number, Los Angeles number, San Francisco number -- now Atlanta number.
They tried to threaten being taken to jail for non-payment, etc. I knew it was a scam and I told the man just that.
I DO NOT ANSWER CALLS WITH LONG-DISTANCE AREA CODES AND LET IT GO TO V.M.. Of course, they do not leave a message.
I know two people out of state and know their number.
These people call constantly stating I bounced a $4 check to Winn Dixie in 2000. First, I didn't even have checks in 2000, I was in high school with just a savings account. Second, I've spoken to the Winn Dixie home office and they've tilde it's a scam and they've had several calls about it. Sad thing is that some people fall for it. How they sleep at night I will never know.
