I received a call from this number earlier in the day on my work line. I looked here and saw it was a scammer and a persistent one. About 3-4 hours later they called again so I decided I would pick up so I could get them to stop calling. They asked for me by name and I said how can I help you? Got a call from this number, said "Childrens Cancer" on the caller ID, assumed it was a hospital or charity organization. I picked up, female caller, they asked for my wife by name. I told her she wasn't home and offered to take a message, caller responded "there is no message" and disconnected. Charity soliciting donations, probably.
Caller Id came up 'Children's Cancer Center'. I donate to St. Judes but have had no prior contact with a "Children's Cancer Center" so I didn't answer. No message left.
Got a call from this number this morning. Caller ID displayed "Children's Cancer..". The call went to voicemail but no message was left. I suspect this is some kind of phone/charity scam. It is bad enough people do this but to use children with cancer as a front is unconscionable. I believe this number comes from Adairsville, GA, probably a cell phone.
Want my credit card number or debit card over the phone! I told them I didn't give out that kind of information over the phone. They said they would mail out a form for me to fill out.
