We received a call from this number claiming to have a lawsuit against us. Figuring this was a mistake or a wrong number I called back to let the firm know and ended up speaking with a man with an Indian accent claiming to be an "Officer Kevin Johnson" from the Franchise Tax Board Investigation Unit (or something along those lines) calling for my spouse. He gave his badge ID number GS1928. Feeling a little confused and leery about this conversation we did some research regarding this conversation, phone number, name and badge number. It looks like it is a tax collection scam. The number is from West Virginia and comes up as a "wireless caller", which initially tipped me off. Watch out for this scam! Don't give any personal information away.

I also got a WIRELESS CALL from the same number at 10am today saying that IRS was filing a law suit against me. I have no doubt right away that it was a scam and have already reported to both tigta.gov and FTC as suggested on IRS website.
