Javier with Empoer Brokerage left two messages calling for my father to review his medicare benefits. i called back another man Carlos answered and had Javier call me back...I questioned himon his business and affliation with medicare he said they were licensed medicare benefit brokers. i informed himmy father had passed away in July and since SS and medicare knew this he should stoop calling my house.
They called my granddaughter asking for my number and told her it was about Medicare. Really? My granddaughter? Thank goodness she was smart enough not to give them my number.
I was on another phone when this call came to my cell. I just let it ring, then looked up the number. Ho, hum..... didn't see any reason to post, since there already seemed to be a general idea of the nature of the caller. Later, however, I discovered a message in voice mail. That's rare.
It was Javier with (unintelligible -- until I saw "Empower," in previous posts) Brokerage. He was leaving the message for someone I never heard of, and he did leave 682-233-6545 as a callback number. It was either a wrong number, or he was looking for a person who had the number some time before spring, 2003, when I got it. ONLY family and friends are ever given this number, and no kind of non-spam business ever calls me on my cell phone.
So, I'm not sure what gives with the actual purpose of the call, but I can confirm it was Empower Brokerage, and that the number is not spoofed, because the guy expected to get called back on it. I did not find this number on the Empower Brokerage Inc. Web site, but it does list two numbers in the 817 area code, which overlays area code 682. So, the number is real and the company is quasi legitimate, even if their telephone calls are flaky.
Had several calls looking For Johnny Rodgers supposedly with a pending lawsuit and if I didn't meet them by such and such a date they would be informing my supervisors. Well shes at work. Im 77 so I get to stay home and watch all the football I want. Javier with Empower Brokerage.
