Wow, after reading all these comments now I know they are scammers. Do to my work I get calls from different areas of TX and thought it was one of my Vendors. They asked me if I pay more than $200 a month on my Energy Bill and I said nope. So then they hung up! But they have been calling at least 4-5 times a day for the past 2 weeks. I do not answer, pretty annoying.
The DNC list is meant as a guide for law abiding telemarketers. It will not stop scofflaws and criminals. Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.
Decided to answer, sick of them calling. Strangely enough, I heard the voice mail narration telling me no one was available, please leave a message after the tone, with some call center-like background noise. When I asked, "Can I help you?" the call was disconnected. Likely a scammer looking for a target. Adding the number to the newly-expanded block list.
They said they were from the US Energy corporation... selling renewable energy. Asked them before to remove my number. So when I got a call from them again, I asked the guy to remove me from the list again to which he replied "I cannot remove you from my list, all I can do is notate it on your file. Do you spend $200 or more a month on your energy bill?" I asked for a supervisor. He replied that he was the supervisor and wanted to know what I spent on my monthly energy bill. What company has a supervisor make telemarketing calls. I told him I would be calling a lawyer and have already documented these calls as harassment and asked him to remove my phone number for a 7th time. He stated his company is not harassing because he's not selling anything, so I would not have any grounds. I told him that he is selling something (renewable energy resources) and would NEVER buy anything from his company.
