I answered the phone at my mother's home and she received a call from this number. When they asked to speak to her, I asked who was calling. Instead of telling me, the woman once again asked to speak to my mother. So I once again asked "WHO'S CALLING"? The caller said "Never mind, I'll call back later" and hung up. If she had waited a second, I would have explained that my mother passed away last year so there really wouldn't be any point in calling back but the caller was too rude and simply hung up on me. I did some googling and found out the number is Easter Seals Goodwill in Fargo. My mother lived in Grand Forks so I have no idea how they got her number other than perhaps they bought a list of elderly people and their phone numbers and they were trying to get some money from her. Because of this call, I will NEVER donate to Easter Seals again.
I have received numerous calls from this number over several months. I do not answer any numbers that I do not recognize. I get many other phone calls from unknown numbers. If it is important I expect that the caller will leave a message but this is not happening. I do know that I had a call from Easter Seals long ago and did agree to send some money. When I got a letter from Easter Seals the return address was not from Fargo but another state. I will support charities within the state but I don't send money out of our state. I want to be sure that the funds go to the right place. I am on limited social security and try to be careful with my spending.
Easter Seals .... another non-profit who uses the money gained/raised for profit rather than for the good of what they say they do. However said, just like the red cross this is another nonprofit organization I don't support because of their tactics.
