Called twice, caller ID was "Cell Phone ND". First time, I just lifted and dropped the line. They immediately called back, I answered and it went like this:
Me: "Hello."
Male voice: "Hey, Joe, how are you doing!??"
Me: "Who is this?"
Male voice: "Hey, this is [unintelligible] from [unintelligible] Wholesale, just wanted to send you a new catalog, you still out there on 55th Street?" (That is my current street.)
Me: "Please take me off your calling list."
Male voice: (Rudely) "Oh, you're not ever getting off this list, we're keeping you on it forever!"
Me: Okay, I know how to file complaints with the FTC, bye! (He continued to talk, I hung up.)
What a JERK. Unfortunately, the phone number doesn't seem associated with any company, so it may even be spoofed. Hard to know if it was someone really sending out catalogs for some company, or just some scammer trying to verify name/phone/address combination for some other purpose.
