I called this number back twice and spoke to the same guy - twice. Another heavy Oriental accent. He said that I should wait for the arrest warrant. Gee, I'm shaking in my Florsheims!
I received another call from the "IRS" this time on my cell phone. They have left 4 different call back numbers. I called one back and was threatened with a lawsuit and the police would arrest me within 45 minutes if I hung up. I told them "have at it" and hung up. I reported to my local police dept.
I received a grainy call from this number, with the person seemingly out in public somewhere. The asked for my name and pulled up my "case file" to say that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me after "years of trying to contact me" over miscalculation errors in my taxes, saying I owe $5,900. I was threatened with arrest and told not anything until they finished reading, because anything I said could be used against me in the court o law. I talked to "Officer John Smith" who told me his badge number was IRM3202. He hung up when I told him I hadn't been eligible to even file taxes as far back as he claimed. I called back and didn't get anyone.
Wow. I called twice, call got dropped. Got on a 3rd time and after I gave the guy my name and zip he proceeded to ask if I was Muslim because of my name. Proceeded to tell me that he was, after I asked why that even mattered. Then informed me that he was from Pakistan, which is where my parents are from. For some reason, thought it was some reason to bond over, regardless of why I was even calling the number back, being the "IRS was taking legal action" against me. Bunch of BS. I found it in the beginning a little odd that the IRS would out source to India. But who knows. Wouldn't waste your time worrying about this one.
