From other posts here, and from my experience and what else I have heard, this scam does not use information about car ownership; they probably use ZIP code income ranges from the census to get a high percentage of car owners, many of whom trade in their cars soon after it goes out of warranty, offering them a chance to postpone the expense of buying another car.
Caller ID is "Las Vegas NV" as reported previously here, number is a Onvoy VoIP in Las Vegas, NV. Blocked.
