This guy called and left a message saying he is from a union looking for a realtor to work with. His name as he said is Sam Kirby using phone number (702) 330-4864. He is very rude. I googled him and saw all these posts.
Similar message left on my telephone - he said to call 888-498-5381 - that he is a union liaison for the State of Oregon and to call him back for referrals of union members.
Got a phone call today from a representative at www.uniontoday.org was wondering if it is a scam or not and searched from complaint www.uniontoday.org.
They want $250 to be listed as one of 4 chiropractors in the LA area for 2 years, which is relatively cheap; and stated that all union employees have to use this site, etc.
After your comment saying the person told you they were in business for 7 years and had no google presence, I checked and their site was only purchased in Mar 2010.
Received a call from Ted Rice on June 6, a union liaison for CA seeking insurance agents to send referrals to for $240 for 2 years. I tried calling back but there was only a VM for Customer Service. Seems like another scam...
Same here. Unbelievable. I told the guy I'd call him back the next day after checking out his site more thoroughly. This led to more high-pitched tactics, but I got him off of the phone eventually. The website on which they are offering "advertisements" has absolutely no sites linking to it and doesn't even show up anywhere on Google after I searched a number of possible keywords related to unions and union services. Even "Union Today" didn't get me anywhere. They have a number of copycat sites that have different domain names. It's a total sham. After I didn't call him back, the guy called me three more times. I finally had to answer and tell him that I wasn't interested. Yuck. I feel really badly for those who were duped by this.
They approached me, too, with a "first come first serve" offer. They told me to check out www.uniontoday.org and asked for $360 to list me both as a psychotherapist and a psychiatrist for two years. What a bargain! They could not convincingly explain, though, why on earth a union member would opt to work with a doctor who doesn't accept insurance instead of the providers within their own insurance network.
The numbers that came up during our funny interaction were: 702-418-1877 (the number "Tim Patrick" gave me), 702-347-7980 and 702-502-5894. Interestingly, at least one them seems to be a cell phone line.
