Woman who I could barely understand, even though she spoke slowly, requested an IT manager who is not at this location. She admitted to wanting to introduce her company, so I sent her to Purchasing. Word of advice, telemarketers (as annoying as you are): if you want to make the proper impression, please hire representatives with a decent command of English! I don't have two minutes to waste on figuring out what your employee is saying; the call shouldn't take longer than 20 seconds, tops.
Phone rang 3 times in a row at 2:25am local time west coast. After 3rd call went to VM, Woman in soft voice with slight accent (couldn't make out what ethnicity) said "hello, hello" twice and hung up. Makes me thing it was an automated dialer that connected her otherwise she would have heard the voicemail and not have said "hello, hello".
If this was a telemarketer they can be fined for calling outside of normal calling hours. Doubly so if a collections company.
Heavy breathing man with Indian accent called asking for IT Director (by name). I asked who was calling and he said some unintelligible company name. I asked why he was calling and he said "um, talk to IT director for..." then hung up. I guess he couldn't think on his feet quickly enough. Scam.
