Got a call from this number, Julie on other end started by asking if I could hear her clearly. First Red Flag.
Said she was with an agency that replaces police dogs for law enforcement, could she get my name and address to send a pledge card. Second Red Flag. didn't respond to first question and just said NO to second. Then she went into a high pressure pitch because the call was for the police... , I hung up and blocked the number.
Has all the earmarks of the scam where they get you to say 'yes' to the 'can you hear me' part and then you have no idea what they substitute after they next ask for a credit card number for a one time (yeah right) donation while they mail out the pledge card.
Said they were a charity that replaces police dogs that are retired or die in the line of service. Asked if they could send a donation card in the mail.
