Yeah, right. Let me guess. "John" has an Indian accent as well doesn't he? Those morally bereft lil' parasites are trying to hone their Scams. They know that the entire population of the planet has become aware of what they are.
The IRS will NEVER call you first. They send you mail. A lot of mail. The ONLY chance you'd EVER talk to a "Senior Attorney" working with, or for, Homeland Security would be in a Courtroom. If that was to ever happen you wouldn't be here talking with us right now. The IRS doesn't call & threaten lawsuits. NOT EVER! They don't need to & they don't operate that way. If you're in trouble with the IRS you already know about it through the mail. If you're in REAL trouble with the IRS they show up on your door step. They don't have "Senior Attorneys" call. They have Federal Agents make house calls & those boys don't set appointments. The IRS doesn't take payments by 'phone or via pre-paid cards. They don't have to. They can just help themselves to your assets & to your accounts if you ignore them long enough.
The Indian & Pakistani Scammers have been working this routine for close to a decade now. They're not very bright. After this long they've made only a few refinements. You might get an unaccented, English speaking robo-call. Don't be fooled. You may occasionally get an imitator trying to scam a quick buck. They don't last long. If someone is found in the US trying to pull this one they'll be going away for a very long time. Simply remember this. If someone calls claiming to be the IRS & is demanding immediate payment...He, or she, is a FRAUD! Every single time !
