Calls us everyday and simply say "hello" "hello" on the machine and then hang up. Says Springfield VA. Even called at 8:42 on a Saturday morning. Unacceptable.
Called and left no message. Caller ID says "Springfield VA". Just like other spam calls from very similar number 703 372 0763 which also say "Springfield VA" and don't leave voicemails. Probably the same scammer behind both numbers.
Number has called repeatedly but leaves no message. Answered this morning and a man asked for me by name (pronounced wrong), when I responded with "who is this?" He hung up. I called the number back and they're "happy I called yada, yada.." Option 1 is for "more information" but then it wants you to enter your phone number. Option 2 is to "sign up for their do not call list". I hung up after that...Option 2 is telling-scam much?
Called number again and selected option 1 for more information then entered my fax number. The recording the states that they "have recorded my number and a representative will get back with regarding the fundraiser they are callin on behalf of."
I received a phone call from this number tonight at around 8:30, with "Springfield, VA" as the caller ID. There was a man on the phone who was telling me about some fundraiser for the Virginia state trooper police. He was asking me to donate money to help the police department. I don't mind donating to a fundraiser for a good cause, but I'm not going to commit to anything over the phone. I asked him to send me some information and I would talk to my husband about it and make a decision. The man immediately became pushy, and I agreed to donate once I received information through the mail. He then forwarded me to another man who was apparently the "Credit Department", and it just got weird. He was stumbling all over his words and didn't seem to know what the fundraiser was exactly for.... the police department or the fire department?...hmmm. I asked him if this was even real and he was speechless. I told him that there was nothing I could do, that I appreciated his phone call, and that I was not going to give money to a fake fundraiser. Nice try.
