I get a call from this number 2 to 3 times a day. The caller id says WORLDCOM MULTIM. I work at night so having whomever this is calling is very annoying. When I call back I get no answer.
Calling and asked for me by name, I said that there is no one by that name at this number and hung up. Called again today, so I answered the phone " Fauquier County Police Department, Deputy Owen speaking, how may I help you"? and they hang up. This works well if lots of other annoying calls too! Seems they do not want to talk to the police about there fraud.
Calling asked for me by name, had much information that could only have come from Honda, or Honda Tysons where I purchased a car I no longer own. They knew name, obviously my tel number, car type and age, my address. Honda Tysons, or Honda USA, is sellling our personal information to these scammers. They are selling extremely overpriced extended warranty plans. I played along, complaining about the price continuously, and they price was continuously lowered as they found one pretext after another to 'authorize' a discount ..they also passed me along to ever more experienced 'closers' in the sales department. Let your dealership know this is illegal, and unethical. Demand when you buy a car that they will not sell your information to these people. In this case, the number tracks to Worldcom martking, and the 'multi' is short for 'multi-partners' .. but it wouldn't matter. They are selling extended policies by Royal Administrators, the 'Royal Shield Program' .. an overpriced, and worthless warranty program that won't acctually pay anything. You can all back the number, press '2' and ask that your number be removed. We'll see if that works.
I receive at least three to four calls daily from this number. Whenever I call back to complain, there is a message saying "our office is closed, call back between 7am and 4pm pacific time...this message is played even during their supposed hours. I have registered a complaint with the U.S Attorney's office in regards to these callers.
