There seemed to be a delay from the time I picked up to the time the caller responded. He appeared to be soliciting donations for veterans. I believe it was a scam. You give them $100, they take $99 and use $1 to keep from being prosecuted for fraud.
Received call from 703-454-0521; caller ID says it's from Springfield, VA. We're in the area, but do not recognize the number. Caller does not say a thing when we answered the phone! Another nuisance call for the Block Call list.
Got called about 3:30pm, caller ID said Springfield - same as Leanne above. . Usually don't answer unfamiliar calls, but this one was local. There was a delay after answering, but then a spiel began with a male voice talking about the number of homeless veterns in the area. I couldn't interrupt so I assumed it was computer generated and hung up. Don't know who's behind it.

I answered the call, only because I thought a friend was calling me back from a cell phone disconnection. After I said helli, a radio DJ type of voice said to me, "hello. This is John davis. How are you?" I immediately hung up, as I assumed it was a spam call I would never have answered had I looked at the caller ID. It stated "springfield, va".
