These calls are coming in from Springfield VA everyday from a different number.ive had at least 12 numbers starting with703-454.They seem to stay away on the weekends.
These caller actually has a life person on the line, identifying themselves as "Emergency personnel" or something like that. Then they ask "can you hear me alright?" with the only purpose for you to say "Yes." The call quickly disconnects if you answer anything other than that word. I guess they want to RECORD you saying YES, so they can use that answer to SCAM you as if you had agreed to something else. So be aware!!! If you answer by mistake never say a word and hang-up. They will try several times consecutively, 2 -3 times per week. They have figured out that if they call several times, they will trick you to think it is an important call and pick it up. There is no way to make them stop, for the same reason that as soon as you didn't answer yes, they hang-up before you can request to be removed from their calling list. My phone (Iphone with T-Mobile) sometimes would display their caller id as "Scam Likely"
