Same...male with accent, apparently allowed to leave message even if my number is on do not call list. My home is under surveillance..blah blah blah...how are these scammers allowed to exist?
Same IRS reports as above - threats, "let us help you" scam.
Just attended a seminar on scam protection. If they call you by the wrong name, they are phising to get your correct name. Then they'll call again - or sell to some other scammer - using the right name to make you believe it is the real IRS. Don't ever give ANY info to these bottom-feeders.
A message was left by a man with a very slight foreign accent stating "the IRS has flagged 'you' (no one was mentioned by name and there are 3 people in our house) for tax fraud and that 'you' were under surveillance. Attempts to contact 'you' by registered mail have come back unsuccessfully. Please call our Corrections Department at 703-828-0815 and someone will be glad to help you." Yea, someone will be glad to help you out of your hard earned money! I just laughed, but my poor mom freaked out. What a bunch of a@@hats! I'm sure it's pretty effective because most people would be scared receiving a call from the "IRS ." Especially since it is right after tax time. They had the nerve to call three times yesterday, so that earned them a place on my blocked calls list, ha-ha. I agree with jp 1, SCAM should be on the call type drop down list!
