Says they're from the IRS - total bull, can't even speak proper English nor construct proper English sentences. The treat of a lawsuit for tax evasion and/or tax fraud I find highly offensive. It's one thing to try to convince me I have long lost relatives in Africa that have died and left me a boat load of money - ( Apparently I have a lot of rich relatives dying left and right in Africa. With all that money, you'd think they'd just move.) But, anyway - the whole idea of threatening me, really is irritating. My 80+ year old neighbor has received 2 such calls. After the first call, she was so worked up, she was going to call and take care of it. Fortunately, she asked me first. So, everybody, help your elderly. These crooks are relentless!
As with other reports, it sounded to me like the caller had an Indian accent. It also sounded like a call center. The caller ID area code was Illinois. Officer Andrew Fraser of the IRS Legal Services Investigation Dept wanted to speak with my husband about a tax filing. I won't be bothering my husband with the message.
"Agent Fraser" of the IRS called my wife and told her we were being audited for tax evasion for 2007-2013. Gave badge numbers, said they had sent multiple registered letters to which we hadn't responded and had a photo of a notice on our door that would be used against us in court. They said her wages were going to be garnished. Really? She's been a stay-at-home mom for twelve years. haha When she expressed concern they got angry. Finally I convinced her via text that it was, in fact, a scam, she hung up on them. Wasted 20 minutes of her life and got her all upset but they didn't get any money or personal information.
