BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS! I got this call today on my cell phone from 703-870-3682. Came up on my caller ID as Amanda from Herndon, VA. I actually have a friend in Herndon named Amanda, so I answered it. Unfriendly man requested my CC# to verify my account in order to either renew or cancel the renewal of my magazine subscriptions (I haven't had one in the past 2+ years). I told him that I didn't have any and so he should cancel any such renewal. He claimed that he couldn't process a renewal cancellation until I confirmed my CC#. And that it would renew and my account would be charged $59 tonight if I wouldn't confirm my CC#. I told him that I wouldn't provide that information and asked him what card # he had on file for me. He hung up. And then... I decided to save the number in my phone in case I received another such call (saved as "Magazine Scammers"). Funny though... As I was saving it, Verizon auto-loaded ID information which showed me TWO NUMBERS. The first was 011-832-850-5310 (international #), and second was the local Herndon, VA number (mentioned above), listed as Amanda from Johnson Law Group. Regardless, I contacted my bank to make them aware. They're SCAMMERS, folks... BEWARE!
