Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Received this call this morning at 9:19am. Caller left voicemail saying they were a debt collection agency. I checked the calling #, only to find out it is a disconnected Verizon cell phone #.
In the voicemail they identified the company as "Central Credit Services Inc" and said to call 866-315-4996. So, I called them and told the moron that answered that they just broke several Federal laws with their little scheme. I told her that I can now prove that they called me with a spoofed CID # and it is directly tied to their toll-free number and company name. I told them that this matter would be forwarded to the Federal Trade Commission for violation of several credit and collections laws. They hung up on me!
Called back several times and repeated that they were violating the FDCPA. Each time, the assclown I was talking to hung up on me.
Bottom line: this "company" is a bottom-feeding, law-violating joke.... Block their # and move on.
