Caller called me saying that I was under investigation for tax evasion and would be arrested if I disregarded the message. First off, no legit law enforcement officer would ever call you to tell you that. They would show up at your house, show you credentials, and then speak with you in person. The fact that the caller didnt know my name and had a heavy foreign accent didnt help his scam.
6/12/15, Just received a call from 703-957-7359, today. Since the number was one I didn't recognized and caller ID said "unknown", I didn't answer. They left a very garbled message indicating they were from the IRS and my account was pulled for incorrect data and that if I didn't return their call, I was subject to high fines and incarceration. The caller had a very strong middle-eastern accent.
Has to be a scam.
6/10/15, Got a call from 703-957-7359, suggesting that I needed to call back before I got arrested. Strong accent warning me "Do not disregard this message." Did not use my name. Did not identify themselves. LOL. An obvious scam. Did not call back.
6/15/15 We have gotten at least 10 calls from 703-957-7359 claiming we are about to be arrested for tax fraud. Its always a poorly recorded message. It is a stupid scam.
I received a call from a person who identified himself as Brian ( last name sounded like "Aromaker") with the IRS Tax audit Department. He stated he had received an IRS petition for illegal tax fraud. He stated I needed to contact him immediately or I could be arrested. Was told not to disregard this message and call 703-957-7359 as soon as possible. The caller did have a strong middle eastern accent, Caller id indicated unknown name.
