Just got a call from this number. I missed the call and since I am expecting a call, I returned the call. First, the guy had a very heavy Indian accent, so he was hard to understand, but he answered the phone IRS. Big RED FLAG. IRS does not call you. So after I let him ramble for a moment, I asked again who he works for. He wanted to all my info and I would not even give him my name. He finally said he works for Ms. Emmalyn (Phonetic spelling).
I also received a robobot message, left on an old Magicjack phone number we haven't used in years. It also claimed to be from the IRS, and the message went as far as stating a warrant was out for my arrest. Gee... nice thing to find out at 5:25 pm on a Friday. Yikes... I better call now!..
I know this is bogus, as well as any IRS matter because our tax returns are as basic as anyone's could be. We don't owe anyone... anything.
Called and left a message on my cell - came through as "Private Number" so I didn't answer. Message was robotic, male. Said there was a "This is the IRS. There is a massive lawsuit filed against you. To avoid us going forward, contact us IMMEDIATELY at 703-972-8105!!!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Jerks. I'm keeping the number handy in case one of my kids feels like having a little fun, and calling them back.
I received a message from this number but there was a warrant for my arrest in Virginia. Obviously I know there isn't but they didn't identify who they were calling didn't actually even state my name on the message it was an automated voice.
