As a retired Federal Agent let me provide some facts for those posting here:
1) Telemarketer using computer generated calls
2) Uses internet/cable based telphone system (like MagicJack). Next to impossible to trace origin of call which leads to next point
3) They use a program that allows them to display ANY telephone number as the calling number. In other words the number you see that is suppose to be calling you is NOT the number. They made that number up and programmed it to show up on your caller ID.
4) Many of these cons are based off shore outside of the US
5) Add up all the listed points above and now you know why they do not care about the Do Not Call (DNC) list.
Got the call didn't answer, but I like the ideas here about wasting their time. Go get Tom Mabe's revenge of the telemarketer CD. It's hilarious. Of course with as rude as these folks ae they'll hang up before you can really have some fun.
Got this call on my cell phone several times. Not interested in anything they are trying to sell. How can I block them? I have blocked them and it continues to show up!!!!!
