Trying to get money for veterans. This is a total scam. they called my phone asking for my wife and thanking her for her service. She was not in the military! also looking up this phone line from AT$T is somewhere in NC trailer park trash town.
Stated that he was John from Best for Vets and was looking for a contribution. Unsure how he got my name or my number as my number is not listed as "mine". I've went to their website and did not see anything in which you could donate to them. I look at it this way.... no need to call me to ask for a donation, if I want to donate to anything, I contact them direct. Much safer that way.
Asked for me by name and said they'd like to send me information about donating to veterans. I said sure then they asked what level I'd like to donate. I gave an amount and I got transferred to another who person who said they don't take any credit card info (so I listened) then he kept talking about they'd mail me a receipt once I sent them a check or money order. I asked "Wait you only accept check or money order?" And the person couldn't answer my question so I said I was uncomfortable being cold called at 8pm at night and I wasn't moving forward. They said OK and hung up. Complete scum scam.
