I never put a message on my answering machine or cell phone voice-mail when my home phone or mobile answers all the caller hears is rain, traffic noises, bird song or crickets my friends who call know what they are listening to and what each of those sounds mean about me they leave a message after the beep and I get back to them when I can
When a phone # appears on caller ID, I let the phone ring twice, depress the "talk" key immediately followed by the "off" key. I did just that with the call from this #. The phone rang again (same caller ID info) and followed the above steps. Next is to block the #. Have a feeling, though, that the same caller somehow programs the calls to appear as if they're calling from different #'s. The key is to press the "talk" key immediately followed by the "off" key. Better than the calling going to the answering machine. Annoying, never the less.
