This may be an extortion scam. Scammers use bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.

I received calls from 011-704-389-0198, they stated that they were from an investigation service and that there were 3 charges against me from non payment of a loan. I told them I never received a loan and had bank statements to prove it. They said I had to send them money to avoid going to court, I told them to take me to court then, I told them they were a fraud and they were not calling from the USA, but Pakistan, I said I could tell by their accent and the 011 code. They got nasty then and then told me they would cut off my hands. i told them I was a retired police officer and about their phone scams, they then hung up quickly
They call themselves DFF - Detective Financial Fraud. Calling about a payday loan - they have my social security number, my CURRENT address, my drivers license number, a BRAND NEW email address and a bank account number I have never had saying that and the money was paid out to that bank account and when the company tried to collect the loan they couldn't so the company wants the money back or we'll go to court. Well, in Florida pay day loans CANNOT sue for their money back. And I haven't had a payday loan in YEARS and never with Bank of America!
I too received 4 calls from this 704-389-0198 and the caller identified himself as Mr. Ron Miller from Investigation Services regarding a legal issue with my Social Security Number. He tried to confirm the number, however, I would not. He said I owed money as well and needed to clear it up or I would be fired from my job. When I told him this is not the first call I have ever had from one of you ____ Indian people sitting over in India or Pakastain making these type of threats, he said I was rude and nasty to him and he is trying to help me. Again he wanted me to verify my SS and phone number, however, I would not and he said ok if this is not you I will take you of the call list. He also left threating message on my phone of the same as above.
I have also been getting calls from this number. THey started calling a few days ago and now they started to call my work. I just said she is no longer works here and they still call. Today they called my cell phone 18 times in 2 mins. who the hell does that. they have all my info from my full social to my full bank account numbers. they repeated it back to me and so they do. Very scary. They told me that I owed $712 for some payday loan that I never took out. I asked them what the details were and that they had me on 3 different counts of fraude. I asked them what the date was that the money went into my account and they said it was between 2010-2011. I went to my bank and asked if they cld look to see any activity all they cld find were my deposits I made and tax refunds. I just don't know what to do now. if anyone has any advice for me it would b greatly appreciated.
