The NC Troopers association 704-409-4776 is a group not affiliated with the state High way Patrol that collects money for itself and spends almost nothing on the purposes it says it is collecting for (basically it is one notch away from fraud). the organization (the phone callers?) keep the rest for themselves. Here is what the better business bureau says about it:
"The North Carolina Solicitation Licensing Division reports that for the Year July 1, 2004 to Jun 30, 2005, Civic Development Group, LLC, a paid professional solicitor, collected $1,129,338.00 of which $135,000.00 or 11.95%
went to the North Carolina Troopers Association. During the same period in an additional drive the amount of $918,176.00 was collected of which $135,000.00 or 14.70% went to the North Carolina Troopers Association."
