Just happened to me today- said it was from 2009. Yet she had ALL my info- even my social! She referenced a bank and employer that I had not been with since 2006 so I knew it was a scam. I just filed a fraud alert on my credit reports since she had my social.

I just had the same call yesterday and it was from a 704 numer and they said if I did not pay by 4 I will be pursuing legal action. I was a little scared I almost paid until I realized that Its a payday loan not anything that I really owe and they are scam artist. I also had them call my legal representative and they did not want to. WOW!! These people are jerk offs!!
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
The recorded message indicates that they need my personal statement for a loss and instigation investigation for their client for a review they are doing.
