Has called several times stating they are calling to renew my Virginia Pilot Newspaper. Also says I owe 82 cents on my account balance. This was an advanced purchase it is impossible that I owe anything on account. I have reported this and other phone numbers several times to Verizon, Do Not Call List, etc. my next step is the police. This began happening once Altel switched over to Verizon???

It is so frustrating to get these annoying phone calls. I wish something could be done. I know if I wish in one hand and spit in the other which one will get full quicker.... Just sooo dang frustrating.
I subscribed to the paper at an incredible rate of $5 a month for four months about a month ago. Tonight I got a call from subscriber services 704-525-2673 (Universal Circulation) who wanted me to renew (even though my subscription doesn’t run out until February) and then the male caller got irate with me when I said no. He asked why, so I told him, I’ve only gotten the paper for a month now, and as it is coming upon holiday time and money is tight and the subscription doesn’t expire for quite a while yet, I preferred to wait. He then got REALLY irate with me. I told him I wasn’t comfortable giving out my credit card info over the phone with a company that doesn’t even share the area code with me, regardless of who he says he is, especially when he was getting aggressive and demanding. He then got verbally abusive with me. I told him, “You asked why I wasn’t willing to renew tonight, I told you, and now you want to argue with me about my reasons? My reason as of RIGHT NOW is this type of customer service! I should not be berated for not wanting to renew when I still have 1/4 of a year left on my current subscription!” He then hung up on me.
