I get calls from this company every night....sometimes after I have gone to bed. I never answer as it is either solicitation or a scam. I want them to leave me alone.
We get a call every month or so from this number. I had been believing that it was the National Kidney Foundation since that's how the caller identifies herself. Someone is supposed to be picking something up from us this week, and I couldn't make it, so I called the number. I was surprised that the answering machine's message didn't have something like "This is the National Kidney Foundation. We're not available right now, blah, blah, blah." But it was a very generic message, which made me suspicious.
The person called back, not to the number I'd left on the message, but to the original number they'd called (our home), NOT TO RETURN MY CALL, but to REMIND US OF THE SCHEDULED PICKUP.
When I tried to call the number again, there was NO ANSWER AND NO ANSWERING MACHINE.
I feel quite sure at this point that this is a fake thing ... a scam, and NOT RELATED TO THE NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION!
I am the person who posted the above on Aug 18. I contacted Karen Bailey, Division Senior Administrative Assistant of the National Kidney Foundation in the Carolinas, and she referred me to one of the supervisors for regional donations.
I AM MAKING A COMPLETE AND FULL APOLOGY TO THE PERSON WHO HAS THE NUMBER 704-632-1518.
I was told that the NKF has individuals who make calls from their home on behalf of the NKF, and that is what this individual was doing. I was so frustrated at the time that I wrote the above post, and I apologize again for saying what I said.
If anyone has any doubts that the requests made from this telephone number are legitimate or not, I recommend that you contact Ms. Bailey or someone else at the National Kidney Foundation.
I have been getting calls from this number about 2 times per day for over a week. I just received
one a few minutes ago. I have caller ID and don't answer unless I know who is calling. I don't
care if the caller is from the National Kidney Foundation, they shouldn't call 2 times a day
including Sunday's. I have some rights too.
They aren't the only calls I'm getting. If their call is so important they should leave a message
and let me decide iI I wish to return their call. If you are getting these calls from several sources
each day it gets to be frustrating.
