This company is Lexis Nexis who verifies information of candidates that a company wants to hire for work. They left me a message inquiring about a release form that the company hiring me is requesting.
They started calling at 3 a.m. and did not stop it went on about every 5 minutes, I finally had to turn off the phone. I would answer the phone and nobody would say anything on the other end.
Calls the office and asks for associates who have listed us as an employer. This last call, I told caller the associate does not work in our office, and we do not take messages. I asked if it was of a personal nature, and the woman said "Ma'am, it is of a private business matter. I want the number of your payroll department". Of course I will not give this information out. She would not give me her name.
It was for a previous employee with a previous company. I could not verify the actual dates, but could verify his position. They asked if I could direct them to who could verify the dates. I told them just to call the company & ask for HR. They asked if I had the number. I told them I didn't, but they could always google the website.
They then asked for my position & name (which the name part was weird since they had left me a voicemail that included my name).
