I ran an ad with Yellowpages.com and found out from ripoff report they try to get $ out of you by continuing to charge your account after the contract is up. so as soon as i payed my year i cancelled my bank card and continued to watch my account.. sure enough! they tried for 3 more months to charge me and called me saying i owed them.
Received a call from this number at 8:37am today. The lady identified herself as Ginny from yellowpages.com. She said she is calling about our account. Our credit card was not working anymore, maybe we changed credit cards or the expiry date changed. Asked me to call back at 704-752-2345. We do not have an account with yellowpages.com so I am not calling back.
Caller stated she was verifying our AT&T online directory listing. Sorry, after every scammer in the book starts off wanting to 'verify' something, I just hang up.
Doing a further search, it does appear to be listed as 'YellowPages.com LLC' but I've had enough calls from them over the years to doubt it's going to be anything but a hassle to talk to them.
This morning, rec'd a call from this number, sales assoc named Brad.
He asked about my business, though called me at home. My business number is NOT published with my home number, it has it's own business number. When I told him our number was on the Do Not Call list, he replied that he could call me whenever he wanted as long as it pertained to my business.
I told him that didn't matter, it was not a business number and asked him how he got it.
His response?
"Doesn't really matter, does it?"
And he hung up.
Tried to call back, but was routed around the phone network.
Have been recieving phone calls from this number daily for about a week now. Never have answered, today they left a message. All I could hear was two men talking in the background, I don't think they knew my Voice mail was on.
