This is a "sweepstakes" where you "win" an entry into the $100,000 sweepstakes. They want your credit card info for you to get your "free" magazines. They said that I entered my phone number online and I have NEVER entered any info like that online. Its a scam folks, watch out!!!
These people just called me about 20 minutes ago and said that I had been entered into a $25,000 sweepstakes. The guy wanted to verify my address and education level and asked what year I graduated high school, to which I answered (not a good idea after knowing the outcome). He began to offer me free magazines and a $100 gift card just for being entered. Of course I wanted $100, so I kept listening. After I told the guy I wasn't interested in magazines, he transferred me over to his "supervisor" who told me I would still get to keep my gift card, but he was also going to send me info on an identity theft program and a couponing program and wanted my feedback. I asked him how I got entered into the sweepstakes because I did not remember signing up for anything, and he told me if I shopped online or made a purchase at a store, I was entered. He then told me they were going to send me these things but they wanted me to pay shipping of just $1.97 and told me to go get my card. I immediately knew something was up and said, "I knew this was too good to be true. No thank you." He then hung up on me!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR CARD NUMBER TO PEOPLE LIKE THIS!!! I can't tell you how excited I was to be entered into a $25,000 sweepstakes and also receive $100 for doing nothing! If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Be smart friends!!
