As others have stated, this is a woman who called from Principal Payment (a non-existent company). There was a lot of background noise and prior to speaking she burped into the phone. She called asking to speak with our president and to ask if we were aware of some federal changes regarding credit card transactions.
Woman called asking for manager of business. Caller ID said Monroe, NC. Asked her what her name was and where she was calling from, missed the name by she said she called from Principal Payment. A quick Google search merits no results for a company like that. I asked about the nature of the call and she said that it was a "financial matter." I asked her what it was regarding and she said that my manager would consider it "confidential." She got defensive and said that she could just call back at a later time and immediately hung up.
