This number is from a company called The Riddle Group, it is a scam do not waste your time going to the interview if they call. 1. When they call they don't state what company they are calling from unless you ask them. 2. I am a communications major and they called me about a sales position that I did not apply for. 3. When questioned about the company over the phone they are very vague and try to rush you off the phone. If you get a call from this number and they say they are with The Riddle Group, hang up.
I got a call from this number today. I actually got a call the day before yesterday but they hung up when I picked up and then they called again today. They said they found my resume on monster and would like to interview me. Having had friends who blew scads of cash in Amway/Quixtar, I was instantly suspicious. It sounded like a high-tech version of the Amway "chance meeting in a store" recruitment approach. No one EVER gets a call from a legitimate company that just happened to find his/her resume on Monster.
After digging a little, I found that the Riddle Group is really one agent of a multi-level marketing scheme called NAA (National Agents Alliance). His name is Andy Riddle and he has apparently moved to Charlotte. He was previously in Florida. They call themselves "agents" because it makes them sound legitimate. Amway calls THEIR suckers "independent business owners." What they do is "recruit" you and then sell you sales leads. You usually wind up spending a ot more than you make. It is essentially a pyramid scheme and they make their money NOT from selling insurance, but from selling sales leads.
If you want to learn more, do a search for them in www.ripoffreport.com.
Incidentally, their "agents" troll the internet looking for threads just like this one. When they find one, they post a response talking about their legitimacy and how they do business with top rated insurance underwriters and then they give you a number to call if you have questions...when you call the number 99 times out of 100, no one will answer.
Once again, it is a scam, a con, and a waste of your time and money.
