Caller called several days in a row, I answered, no one there.
Called Saturday afternoon, said "hello" three times, some bumbling young woman finally asked for my husband by name, mentioned the year of our truck and said they were with 'the vehicle warranty' service and wanted to ask specific information about our GMAC product - mileage, etc.
I cut them off, told them I really didn't appreaciate being bothered on my phone and asked to remove me from their calling list.
I'm on the 'no call list', for what little it is worth, but the loophole, I guess, is if you ever do business with a company, they can sell your name, and these agencies can call you, pretend like they're conducting a survey and then try to sell you a warranty from a company that may or may not (most likely is not) affiliated with the company that sold you the product, in this case, GMAC.
Miserable. It's not enough one pays a fortune for a vehicle, they now make additional $$ by selling what should be private info that should only be used to update a person on any recalls or relative purchase info.
Called several days, asked for husband and said that they could talk to the spouse, wanted to know about our Dodge Truck because they were doing a 'SURVEY' (What a crock!). Was offering me a warranty that is better than the factory because they only cover lubricated parts. They wanted me to 'confirm' the year make and model and then the next hurdle was the mileage. This was her ONLY concern and boy was it a big concern! She asked if it had 10 K and 20m then went up to 30 and 40K. She was desperate to get me to say/agree to any number about the mileage. The truck is in the yard but the mileage is electronic, she wanted to wait on me to 'go and see what it said'. I told her that we would just LOVE a warranty, because that truck has not ran in YEARS and it would be great to have someone pay for it to be working again.
Her priorities suddenly changed to get off the phone and quickly! Ha Ha! Works every time!!! I just bet I won't be getting another phone call from her!
Sitting at home. Phone rings. My Mother in law picks it up. The lady on the other end asked if she can have the mileage on our Chrysler mini van. My mother in law responds that she can't see how that is any of her business. The lady then responds, "[***]' [***]" and hands up. After my mother in law informs me of what happened, I *69'ed the caller. Got a generic message "the business your trying to reach is closed." Wow.
knew exact make and model of my car, asked the mileage on my car and offered me an urgent warranty, saying my car is approaching the most common problem with the make and model. told her I would call her back by the end of the day, shehung up on me
Has called 6 times in the last 9 days. Didn't leave a message the first time. After that, based on comments here, I added the number to my call blocker. Hope they're enjoying the two seconds of silence they receive on each call. :-)
