This guy is too funny. He thinks everyone is stupid. He said his name was Sam and that he works with Dell and they received information that I have malware in my system. I was like 'what' 'who'? and he replied: 'just turn on your computer and I will explain everything and tell you what to do'. He called from 706-426-5597. I called Dell and they confirmed that in fact nobody from Dell was trying to contact me and that it most probably is a scam. It's sad because I know some people will believe him and will let him access their computer remotely thinking he is helping them and fixing things but in fact it will be quite opposite.
I didn't trust this guy who claimed he worked for Dell as I've had my computer hacked before and they never called me before. So I decided to hang up and call the number back.
There was a message that said "You've reached the number of *insert hard to understand name*". As soon as I heard that message, not only two moments later, which we all know is NOT how Dell works, (haha!) the same guy was speaking with me. He said this time that he monitored strange behavior on Windows computers. I asked what company he said he was from and he said once again, Dell. I asked him why has Dell never called me in the past when I actually had an attack on my computer and he said they never received reports of it. I told him this didn't sound right and that I would go ahead and get a second opinion from another Dell representative. It made me laugh when I told him this his whole voice changed and he replied, "Oh... okay. Sorry to waste your time. Bye" and he hung up.
Don't be fooled by this guy!! He is the hacker wanting to break into your computer.
