Caller said he was soliciting on behave of some police agency. Used a few acronyms that I did not know and I hung up on him as I have received that same call but from a different number. I am both on the DNC list (which does not work) and I also work in a police HQ so if i was to help police with my donations, then I don't have to look or walk far for a legit police cause.
Call came a few minutes before 8 tonight. It was intercepted by a service I use that cuts off calls that are dialed by computer, aka robotically.
This is another number used by an annoyance caller that is very successful at hiding their identity. I called the number back with my ID blocked and got a familiar smokescreen message spoken by a male explaining that they were busy helping other callers or maybe were closed but would be open during regular business hours — at which time you would receive the same prerecorded message.
I made a note of the earlier number that used this smokescreen but can't find it right now.
