This one called around 10:30a I believe and a lady named Samantha asked me to pass along a message to my mother-in-law. She left 706-765-2237 as a callback number and no other information. My wife works for ARMC, and their numbers all start with 475 as the root, so this is immediately at best an offsite call center owned by ARMC, and the alternatives, and probably more likely, are it's a third party collections group or a scam entirely (not entirely sure if my mother-in-law has had a medical procedure at that hospital recently enough to owe them anything). It's all too easy to get your information and make a wild guess at someone you might owe money to and try to see how many credit cards they can get from you to ruin your life. I'm going to give her the message, but it's all going down on speaker phone with me around.
They called shortly after 8 AM today, telling me via the answering machine to stay on the line as it was important that they speak with me, and then playing some awful music. I picked up as I definitely had a few things to tell them, the most important being that I could find my own dreadful music if I felt the need to hear it at 8 AM, but they eventually hung up, saying they would call back later.
I received a call this morning from the same number. I called the main ARMC billing number (706-475-3520) directly and they verified that they have a call center located in Miami, Florida and the 706-765-2237 number is legitimate and not a scam. I had an unpaid bill with the hospital.
