I received a call from them. Total [***]. They answer "Internal Revenue Service" when you phone back and its a total scam.
I do work with the federal government and will be reporting them.
After several calls from this number: (706)844-1784, I BLOCKED this number. Then I decided to call them back.
1. I dialed the number,
2. Put phone on speaker,
3. Someone answered (they stayed on the line, “HELLO… HELLO!” in a foreign accent),
4. I blasted LIVING ON A PRAYER by Bon Jovi on my speaker phone.
When they hung up, I REPEATED STEPS 1-4.
After I called them 6 times, they blocked MY number.
Rang both my fax line and voice line the same time, so did not pick up. Caller ID read "Southern Linc M" Which apparently shows up for this # as well http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-706-844-1646/5
Just called again. I have two identical voicemails from this slime bag. It's a recorded message with African sounding male recorded that has a slight echo effect. The messages were "Hi this message is intended to contact you. My name is Dennis Quay. I am calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 706-844-1784. I repeat 706-844-1784. I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you."

I received the same message as outlined above (although mine was difficult to understand; so I appreciate the translation). Clearly fraudulent since the caller does not identify who he is calling; he simply says, "This message is intended to contact you...."
