Some police association, said too quickly for me to search for it in Google. Sounded like a robo-call, though sophisticated enough to respond to my comments.
Do not give to organization that cold calls you like that - they are a rip off and give the police and fire folks a bad name - let alone only giving very little $$ to the cause they are collecting for. Find a local charity to give to if you have too much money. By giving local you can see your donation in action.
I have received calls from the number on many occasions, and, judging from the voice, it seems to be from the same person. Last month, I told the caller that I am on the "do not call list and wanted my name removed from their solicitation list. Today I received yet another call. The person was a bit more cautious. First he asked for me. Instead of identifying myself, I asked what it was regarding. He said it was a "courtesy call" and could he please speak to (me). I told him not until he tell me what his call regarded. Then "crickets"... I hung up. This does not appear to be a reputable charity, and I would advise against donating to it.
