This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Jessica Jenkins called continually and threatened me continually left messages with the threats, for something that has nothing to do with me. From this number. She said she work for the county
A Jamal Jeffries called me from this number saying I have fraud cases out on me, and that I would be taken to court. He gave me a 866-356-0512 number to call and a case number when I said I didn't know what he was talking about. I called the number there suppose to Atlantic litigation, I asked for office location and actual number to company, she said we have satellite offices, then I asked if I can receive copies of this so called information they had, she tells me no because they have to use it for my case, I said so your telling me I can't review the information you have against me I'm just suppose to believe what your telling me. I informed her that I've had a bankruptcy, so if I did owe anyone it would have been cleared through that, she says it doesn't cover loans and school loans, I said no it covers everything that has nothing to do with the government, i.e. Taxes and school loans. She said I could give you all this information if you would like to do a legal agreement to settle out of court. We could take your information, set up payment arrangements and then I can mail or email the documents to you. So I replied to her that I'm just suppose give you all my information to back something you won't let me have access to unless I give you my financial information? The lady Lila Martinez said to me yes, that's how their office conducts their legal matters. I just asked again for her name and the name of her company. Atlantic Litigation Office, she gave no address, no direct number. I told her I would investigate this further and contact them. She said okay ma'am, but of course added that I must give this serious thought because the sheriffs dept. will show up at my home or place of employment to potentially serve or arrest me. I said okay ma'am and hung up, tried to search for any information pertaining to any of these numbers and could find no information, the 866 number said its not a recognizable number, and the 708 number is a cellular bandwidth number so you can't actually see who owns it.
